123 Challenge

My 1st LO in about a month...this was for the challenge over @ 123 Challenge...It was to use Book Paper, "Smile" & a non-scrappy product. I love using bits of book paper in my LOs (this is October Afternoons) I sewed for the 1st time in my life on this LO...so easy & thanks Lisa for teaching me how to sew...maybe one day I will be able to sew my own clothes...

I was totally inspired by the Ad as I have just moved here from the USA. That day I received a thank you letter from Holly for some baby gift books I had made for her. I thought with all the technology(facebook, email, blackberrys, Blogs, phones) we have nowadays, rarely do we get letters or cards by POST & to top if off now I live thousands of km away from my friends in Texas...it always seems like such a nice and thoughtful surprise and it "REALLY DOES TOUCH ME WHEN I RECEIVE A LETTER IN THE MAIL"... And just a few months prior I received a gorgeous package in the mail from my dear friend Sandee...Thank YOU girls...Love you both!!!I used a clear vellum printed with "friendship blooms in loving hearts". The picture is of a very dear friend of mine in Texas, USA and I used the title 13192 km from USA as that is how far we are from each other...I miss you Holly!

Let's Get Shabby LO

I have already started changing my LO...any one who knows me is that I usually let my LOs sit for a day or 2 before I file them away because I usually will change, remove, or add something to the LO...Dontcha just love the toilet picture...

I thought this was due in a few days so had not taken pictures or even finished my Layout...I had everything I thought was Shabby as well as all that I had that was Gingham... I have really never done a Shabby LO before... so after teaching today I had to finish my LO and I had to take the pictures on my toilet as it was dark when I finished...oops...will take some more tomorrow...the pictures really don't do it any justice...loved doing this LO over @ http://letsgetshabby.blogspot.com/ Go over and take a look at their site...Awesome talent over there...

My room in the US...This was my retreat room...so loved being here and creating here and this also acted as my office while I was in Pharmaceutical Sales...My computer and work was somewhere under all that scrap stuff...lol

My New HAT

In Australia Schools, all kids have to wear hats outside during recess, PE, morning Tea & Afternoon Tea...Well the TEACHERS are too...so I went out and got one for my 2nd day of teaching as I was the only lone ranger on Friday without a HAT!!! I have about a 30 baseball caps, but those are not allowed...

Mine was the JOY card and real easy peasy to make...Cut out the JOY on my slice, Used Tim Holtz Distress Inks & Maya Road Misters as well as my own concoction mini misters (alcohol ink, water, & Perfect Pearls medium) to cover the card & JOY

INSIDE of Card... This I made in Photoshop with a brush and digi paper & printed 2 to 4 to a 4X6 photo depending on size you want.

I was so excited when I got home from promoting "ME" the "Science Teacher" at numerous schools around my area that I won over at a new challenge site called

It's NEW & it's DIFFERENT...inspiration from Ads and the first one really touched me, as it was an Ad on the Australian POST..."If you really want to touch someone, send them a letter" and that DAY, I got a card from a special friend of mine from the USA. With blogging, twitter, facebook, myspace, email, iPhones, Blackberries, you rarely get something in the mail anymore, so when I did, I was so happy!!! Can't wait to do the challenge.

A few Layout Challenges

This page pretty much sums up my 2 greatest passions...SCIENCE EDUCATION & SCRAPBOOKING. The challenge was to use our kids artwork on the page, as well as color combo(black, blue, red, white, & silver), chipboard alpha, & old stuff from the stash. Since I have been in Australia, I really haven't bought anything new. Well, the kids artwork was very difficult to do as I don't have any kiddos or bubbas. So I scanned in a watercolor drawing that one of my students mom drew for me when I taught her daughter Rocketry. I gave the kiddos pictures and she painted a watercolor painting from the picture. The Rocket says "WALDEN", my last name. I was so humbled that she did this for me.

123 Challenge Sketch

Just finished LO for now...taking pictures at desk...LOVE teal & black together...I want Teresa Collins NEW friendship line...Black & Tiffany Teal...YUM!! Gonna make an album of my friends from the US in that color scheme!!!(Sandee those !!! are for YOU!) It's funny cause I just bought new blades for my fiskers cutter, but WHY??? I end up distressing all the paper anyway so I may just use the old blades that cut like Sh#t...LOL

Bons Scrap Sketch

The bling on the bottom was bugging me...so they are gone...wanted a different arrow but tore the paper so said bugger and the shadows from that day...still learning photography of LOs. It's funny cause I like to work on like 6 different LOs and then let them sit there & then eventually paste down when I haven't changed it for the nth time...I am like okay...DONE. I have ADD so very hard to work on just one. I have changed 4 of the last 6 LOs that I originally took photos of.

Challenge was a Sketch & you had to use B/W photo, arrow, & an animal!!!
