Scrapbooking Memories Sumissions-Due April 27th

I have decided to enter a few layouts to Scrapbooking Memories this month if I remember to get them emailed. I haven't sent any in before so will see how we go. The themes for this month are:

Things they say - kids and adults - say the darndest things! Whether funny, inspirational or adorable, scrap the things people say and share them with us!

Weddings and Anniversaries - it's time to celebrate the magical bond of marriage. We want to see photos of you - or someone you knot - tying the know, or why not scrap and anniversary page for you and your special one to treasure.

Large Photos - we're looking for pages incorporating at least one photo larger that 6x4. You can use smaller ones as well, but this month we're looking for pages with big photos!

Journey - from family holidays, car, plane and train rides to trips of a lifetime or metaphorical voyages or discovery and learning; scrap your journeys for us and send them in today They are all due by April 27th to submissions@scrapbookingmemories.com.au

Sketchy Thursday I went over to Chat with Charm and she has all the challenges you can think of all in one place. I am going to attempt to do heaps this month as I am finally sorted with school and holidays are coming up plus Scrappidoo Retreat is at end of the month.

Next one is for Stuff to Scrap...I didn't even know about half these challenges. It is nice to have a sketch and ideas to scrap as I can't think half the time with all that is happening. Thanks Charm! Stuff to Scrap Sketch and you were suppossed to do a page about yourself! I was born in 1973 and moved to Texas after University in Wisconsin.

WOW!!! Has it been almost 4 months since I have blogged. Yep! I have a few layouts I have done over the past 4 months...there are many more, but have been so busy teaching that I haven't photographed any of them...They are all at my LSS Scrappidoo (which by the way is the bestest store EVER) hopefully inspiring others like US!!!!
I finally have some balance in my life...felt like I was in my 1st year of teaching...mind you I have been a teacher since 1997. Spent the last 3 months in a contract at a local College here on the Sunshine Coast. Things are much slower paced and I work shorter contracts here and there. I love teaching AND I LOVE my HOLIDAYS and DAYS OFF...SO really I LOVE teaching in MODERATION!!!!!

123 Challenge

My 1st LO in about a month...this was for the challenge over @ 123 Challenge...It was to use Book Paper, "Smile" & a non-scrappy product. I love using bits of book paper in my LOs (this is October Afternoons) I sewed for the 1st time in my life on this LO...so easy & thanks Lisa for teaching me how to sew...maybe one day I will be able to sew my own clothes...

I was totally inspired by the Ad as I have just moved here from the USA. That day I received a thank you letter from Holly for some baby gift books I had made for her. I thought with all the technology(facebook, email, blackberrys, Blogs, phones) we have nowadays, rarely do we get letters or cards by POST & to top if off now I live thousands of km away from my friends in Texas...it always seems like such a nice and thoughtful surprise and it "REALLY DOES TOUCH ME WHEN I RECEIVE A LETTER IN THE MAIL"... And just a few months prior I received a gorgeous package in the mail from my dear friend Sandee...Thank YOU girls...Love you both!!!I used a clear vellum printed with "friendship blooms in loving hearts". The picture is of a very dear friend of mine in Texas, USA and I used the title 13192 km from USA as that is how far we are from each other...I miss you Holly!

I have already started changing my LO...any one who knows me is that I usually let my LOs sit for a day or 2 before I file them away because I usually will change, remove, or add something to the LO...Dontcha just love the toilet picture...

I thought this was due in a few days so had not taken pictures or even finished my Layout...I had everything I thought was Shabby as well as all that I had that was Gingham... I have really never done a Shabby LO before... so after teaching today I had to finish my LO and I had to take the pictures on my toilet as it was dark when I finished...oops...will take some more tomorrow...the pictures really don't do it any justice...loved doing this LO over @ http://letsgetshabby.blogspot.com/ Go over and take a look at their site...Awesome talent over there...

INSIDE of Card... This I made in Photoshop with a brush and digi paper & printed 2 to 4 to a 4X6 photo depending on size you want.

A few Layout Challenges

This page pretty much sums up my 2 greatest passions...SCIENCE EDUCATION & SCRAPBOOKING. The challenge was to use our kids artwork on the page, as well as color combo(black, blue, red, white, & silver), chipboard alpha, & old stuff from the stash. Since I have been in Australia, I really haven't bought anything new. Well, the kids artwork was very difficult to do as I don't have any kiddos or bubbas. So I scanned in a watercolor drawing that one of my students mom drew for me when I taught her daughter Rocketry. I gave the kiddos pictures and she painted a watercolor painting from the picture. The Rocket says "WALDEN", my last name. I was so humbled that she did this for me.

Just finished LO for now...taking pictures at desk...LOVE teal & black together...I want Teresa Collins NEW friendship line...Black & Tiffany Teal...YUM!! The bling on the bottom was bugging me...so they are gone...wanted a different arrow but tore the paper so said bugger and the shadows from that day...still learning photography of LOs. It's funny cause I like to work on like 6 different LOs and then let them sit there & then eventually paste down when I haven't changed it for the nth time...I am like okay...DONE. I have ADD so very hard to work on just one. I have changed 4 of the last 6 LOs that I originally took photos of.

Challenge was to scrap a favorite recipe that you LOVE using "Chocolate, Strawberries & Cream Color Theme"(plus use flowers, bling, ribbon, & buttons...the whole enchilada) Peter made this for me & it is a favorite in his family!!!I think he forgot the recipe cause he got this off of the internet, but it tastes YUMMY!!!!

Thanks Kirsty for the challenge. Scrap someone you LOVE using the theme"Chocolate, Strawberries & Cream" so I thought Sepia for the photos would be perfect... Had this heart painted with Tim Crackled Distress Ink on his grunge heart & wanted to use it. Who would of thought I would be using MM to scrap Peter Surfing. I have 2 Artbins full of Surfing paper & beach, but when I showed him he said he liked it with the pink. Not happy about the clear arrow that I lined with Perfect Pearls cause it seaped through to the picture. Should of left the arrow off. But trying to do so much in a little amount of time. Love Crackled Distress Paint...

My hubby is so photogenic and has such a "Sweet Smile". I wish I was half as photogenic as he is in photos!!! Maybe it's the one behind the camera. Will have to teach him a few things!

The challenge was:

1. Polka Dots

2. Paint on a stamp

3. Altered Photo

Check to ALL especially the Polka Dots. I didn't realize how much things have polka dots on them. I found everything from embellies, flowers, ribbons, & heaps of paper. Used Simple Luxe papers, Teresa Collins Documented LIFE & heaps of other stuff!

Here in Australia, all retreats are done at hotels. This is the first retreat that I visited. It is sponsored by Scrap with V. And that is Vanessa (V, Ness) above. Next year I am in for sure.

This is a Baby Book that I made for a close friend in the US. I used mostly MM paper & embellies, Tim Holtz, & Maya Road.
I also made her a journal book for just that...to keep in the diaper bag and DOCUMENT things in Addisons life. The book is simple, and does have embellies inside and transluscent sayings about mom and daughter.

I finally used those awesome CDs from Prima with all the overlays and frames. A must have CD. Plus all the bling goes on the layout. Hearts/Ovals/Diamonds/ETCI don't really have any Digital Stuff so the layouts are a bit lame...I only have 5 digi papers. LOL
However...I think there is about $1000.00 in Artbins and $6000.00+ more in supplies in my Scrapbook Room.
